Sensus Deitatis

In the high Peruvian desert lie 370 large scale geoglyphs etched into the earth by the ancient Nazca people, believed to be a form of creative expression and ritual practice.
The exact purpose of these creations remain a mystery, but what is clear is the intentionality and skillful planning of the artists who created them.
We often have no other explanation for ancient artworks than the magnification of the divine, The Sensus Deitatis (sense of deity).
The unique human capability for creativity, art, and design is what inspired this project. The innate sense within all people to reach out and strive for beauty, the longing to exercise our powers of creation.

This pair of cabinets is created with solid black dyed ash, featuring hand cut dovetail drawers and unique pencil trays.
One cabinet is tailored to the practice of coffee making, the other to drawing and sketching.
